When Alejandra Reyes discovered Future Forward CT and SNHU, she was a busy working adult searching for a program that felt realistic for her life. She wanted something affordable, flexible, and supportive enough to help her reach a goal she had carried for years.
“This program aligned with my personal goals because I was looking for an affordable and actually doable option to continue my education,” she says. “I talked to Cynthia Torres and she helped me stay motivated every step of the way, from enrollment to school work.”
Balancing overtime shifts, late nights, and school projects took a real toll. There were moments when Alejandra felt tired and overwhelmed, but she kept returning to her why. She also felt supported by her coach and the Future Forward CT staff who encouraged her through every milestone.
“I found myself tired, especially when working overtime and still having to do projects,” she explains. “My coach always kept checking on me and congratulating me with every goal I achieved. When I needed help I knew I could count on FFCT and that was really motivating mentally and emotionally.”
The biggest lesson she gained was learning to keep trying, even when assignments felt challenging.
“The biggest thing I learned in this program is to keep trying. No matter how many times I got a not yet, I knew I had to keep going until I got it right.”
Alejandra earned her Associate Degree first, then pushed forward and recently completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Crossing that finish line represents years of dedication and a deep belief in her future.
“My biggest accomplishment at first was getting my AA. Now I have my BA and I cannot believe how far I have come,” she says. “I have made my mom, my friends, the FFCT team, and my siblings proud of me. And of course I have made myself proud too.”
As an immigrant, Alejandra expected the path to higher education to be full of obstacles. Instead, she found a community that walked with her.
“This is an amazing program. As an immigrant I knew I would face a lot of challenges while seeking higher education, but FFCT made it so much easier for me.”
Her advice for anyone unsure about taking the next step is simple.
“I would say give it a try. The program gives a free trial and that is very helpful for someone who is not sure. The team is amazing and they will walk with you through every step of the way.”
Alejandra’s journey is a reminder that persistence can open doors, and that with the right support, big dreams can become real.
